Henry Paulson represents GoldmanSachs and wall street! And yes, Wall Street wants regulation... as long as they can write, as they are doing now.
Why does wall street want regulation?
Because regulation gives the average mom and pop the confidence to give their hard earned cash to a total stranger who promises big returns but guarantees nothing. Read the fine print in any 'complex financial instrument', as GoldmanSachs calls them.
The 'illusion' of regulation is what Wall Street wants. Without regulation, wall street is nothing more than a con-man in a street corner touting a Ponzi Scheme.
Henry Paulson and GoldmanSachs wants to 'assure' people that it is OK to buy their CDOs and other stuff. The Bernanke bailouts also helped. It has made the citizens think that Government guarantees thier investments :)
So, is it any wonder that Paulson is preaching more regulation?
Without the illusion of regulation the Ponzi Schemes of GoldmanSachs would not work. People would soon find out that you can't make money out of thin air. If we are serious about stopping future bubbles, we should deregulat most investment schemes and let it be known.
But wall street and its mole Paulson are working hard to make sure that does not happen
NPR loves GoldmanSachs. They actually think GoldmanSachs is saving the USA!!!!
